Chinese Tourists To USA


In summer of 2004, an official US tourism office was established in China. During its opening news conference attended by the US Embassy's visa consuls and the US government officials, a clear welcome message was sent to the ordinary Chinese citizens who intend to visit the USA as a tourist. On December 6th, 2004, a Sino-US Tourism Memo was signed in order to promote tourism into both countries. As of January 15th, 2005, Chinese citizens for the first time started to obtain multiple entry visas into the USA. Today, Chinese tourists are considered VIPs in western countries, and ordinary Chinese citizens vacationing in the USA is no longer a dream.

1. USA – Chengdu
Depart your hometown and take the flight to Chengdu.

2. Arrive in Chengdu (L,D)
Arrive Chengdu in the morning, our group will be warmly welcomed and greeted by our English-speaking tour guide at the Airport. After brief refreshing time, we will start our wonderfil

sightseeing in Chengdu. Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan Province. It is also the hometown of Giant Pandas. Chengdu has countless beautiful scenery and historic relics. Its traditional customs of southwest China and spicy Sichuan cuisine are favorites of American tourists. We will visit the Wuhou Ancestral Temple, which is built in memory of the great ideologist and strategist in Chinese history, Zhang Liang. Then we will go to the Dufu Hay House. Dufu is one of the most famous poets in ancient China who lived in the Tang Dynasty (about 618-907 AD). We will also visit the Wangjianglou Mansion or the Baoguang Temple.

3. Chengdu – Lhasa (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will board China Southwest Airlines flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. Our local tour guide will meet us and transfer from this Airport to the Buddhist Holy city, Lhasa. After lunch, we will check into hotel and take a half day rest to acclimate ourselves to the high altitude.

4. Lhasa (B,L,D)
Today, we are going to visit the Potala Palace, the highest palace of the world. The palace has over 1000 rooms, housing 10000 altars and 200000 Buddhist Statues. Here was the residence of the Dalai Lama. Walking through the long halls, painted rooms, and sacred chapels of this architectural wonder on pavement stones worn smooth by the feet of thousands of monks over hundreds of years. We shall also visit the holiest shrine. Johkang monastery and shopping along the Barkor street, where we will see different handcrafts from different palace.

5. Lhasa (B,L,D)
Whole day sightseeing in Lhasa. Today, we are going to visit the Dalai Lama’s former summer palace, the Norbulingka, home to a precious stone garden built in the second-half of the 18th century. We will visit the wonder of Yan Bajian Geothermal. Enjoy Tibetan dancing performance after dinner.

6. Lhasa – Chengdu (B,L,D)
Today, we will leave Lhasa for Chengdu. We shall rest in the hotel for the rest of the day to adapt our body to the low altitude.

7. Chengdu – Panda Reserve (B,L,D)
Early in the morning we will go to the Panda Breeding Center, which is just outside Chengdu city. Morning is the best time to observe pandas, as they are most lively at that time. We will have an expert with us to explain the habits of those living fossils. You can also enjoy the beautiful natural scenes there.

8. Chengdu - Hangzhou (B,L,D)
After breakfast we go to Hangzhou. Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, was praised in the ancient Chinese poetries “paradise on earth”. Today, we will start our tour with the majestic Lin Yin Temple, which known as the Temple of Inspired Seclusion. Afterwards we will go to see the mysterious Fei Lai Feng (Peak Flown From Afar). In the afternoon we will visit the Willow Garden of Listening to Orioles.

9. Hangzhou – Suzhou (B,L,D)
After breakfast you will take our leave to Suzhou. Resting in the arm of the ancient Grand Canal, Suzhou is well known for its old delicate gardens. Narrow canals threaded between white walled homes have earned Suzhou the name “Venice of the East”. After have a good rest in the afternoon you will visit the Tiger Hill and the famous Lingering Gardens.

10. Suzhou – Shanghai (B,L,D)
We are going to Shanghai this morning. Shanghai is the largest city in Asia, nestled in the fertile Yangtze Valley, a home to 14 million people. We are going to enjoy the cultural richness of the Museum of Shanghai, famous for its jade and ivory collections, and historical paintings. After dinner, we will visit the Bund and shopping along the Nanjing Road.

11. Shanghai - USA(B,L,)
Our tour in Shanghai covers sightseeing resorts such as Jade Buddha Temple, which is famous for its two big Jade Buddha, each of them was carved out from a single piece of Jade. After lunch, we are going to the airport. Bid farewell to the fascinating color and grandeur of China as you board your flight bound for USA.
