Chinese Tourists To USA


In summer of 2004, an official US tourism office was established in China. During its opening news conference attended by the US Embassy's visa consuls and the US government officials, a clear welcome message was sent to the ordinary Chinese citizens who intend to visit the USA as a tourist. On December 6th, 2004, a Sino-US Tourism Memo was signed in order to promote tourism into both countries. As of January 15th, 2005, Chinese citizens for the first time started to obtain multiple entry visas into the USA. Today, Chinese tourists are considered VIPs in western countries, and ordinary Chinese citizens vacationing in the USA is no longer a dream.

1. USA - Beijing
Depart your hometown for your flight to Beijing, China.

2. Beijing(D)
Arrive in Beijing in late afternoon and warmly welcomed by your English-speaking local guide. Transfer to your hotel.


3. Beijing (B,L,D)

Beijing is the Capital of China, once served as the Capital City for 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years. We start today’s tour from the Tiananmen Square – the largest square in the world. The present Tiananmen Square has an area of 440,000 square meters and has become a relaxing place for the common people to fly kites and walk. Behind the Tiananmen Gate Tower is the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. The City was built between 1406 and 1420 and served as the Imperial Palace for 24 Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This complex, being the world largest Imperial Palace, features more than 800 buildings with resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon we will tour the Temple of Heaven where the Ming and Qing Emperors worshipped the God of Heaven and preyed for a good harvest. You can visit the most brilliant buildings there, the Circular Mound Altar (Yuanqiutan), Imperial Vault of Heaven (Huangqiongyu) and Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest (Qiniandian) from south to north. What’s more, you can have a chance to experience the magnificent atmosphere of the Echo Wall around the Imperial Vault of Heaven.
We will enjoy the famous Beijing Duck banquet for dinner, with Chinese traditional folk dancing entertainment.

4. Beijing – Urumqi (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to Beijing airport for your flight to Urumqi, the Capital city of Xinjiang Uigui Autonomous Region. You will visi t the Xinjiang Provincial Museum and local Uigur nationalities free market in the afternoon.

5. Urumqi (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel today you’ll enjoy a full day excursion tour and boat cruise on Tian Chi, (Heaven Lake) about 100 kilometers away from Urumqi, which is located right in the middle of Bo Ge Da Peak, the second biggest peaks of Tian Shan Mountain, covering total area of 4.9 square kilometers with the beautiful snow Tian Shan Mountain surrounding on each side.

6. Urumqi – Turpan (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel, you will have a half day tour in Urumqi include the Red Hill, the South Mountain Pasture where you can visit a Hasaka family and the Xinjiang Carpet Factory. After lunch drive to Turpan, a small town lies on the northern Silk Road.

7. Turpan – Liuyuan (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel. Turpan is the largest Uigur populated area in China. It is crucial point along the northern Silk Road in the history. In the morning you will visit the Flaming Mountain, the Ten Thousand Buddha Cave and the ancient tombs. After lunch you will visit the ruin of Gaochang Ancient Town which was built in the ninth century, a rich intellectual and artistic culture developed during the ninth to the thirteen century. Then stop at the Grapes Valley to taste the famous Turpan grapes. After dinner take an overnight train to Liuyuan.

8. Liuyuan – Dunhuang (B,L,D)
You will arrive at Liuyuan in the early morning, after breakfast at a local restaurant; you will take a 2 hours bus ride to Dunhuang. Arrival by noon time tour to the Singing Sand Hill and the Crescent Spring. Dinner will be at hotel.

9. Dunhuang (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel, you will depart for the world famous Mogao Thousand Buddha Caves, established in 366 AD. It is the greatest archeological discovery in the twentieth century. Afternoon you will visit the Dunhuang National Customs Museum and the local free market.

10. Dunhuang – Jiayuguan – Lanzhou (B,L,D)
Coach to Jiayuguan, on the way you will enjoy the unique scenery of Ge Bi Desert. Lunch enroute. Arrival Jiayuguan in the afternoon, you will go to visit the Great Wall to see the First Pass along the Wall, Jiayu Pass, built in the Ming Dynasty some 600 years ago, still standing there today. Dinner will be in the city of Jiayuguan then take overnight train to Lanzhou, the Capital city of Gansu Province.

11. Lanzhou (B,L,D)
Arrive in Lanzhou in the early morning. After breakfast at local restaurant, you will have a full day excursion in Lanzhou, include Bingling Temple, tranquil boat ride on the Yellow River, the Five Spring Hill and the White Pagoda Hill.


12. Lanzhou – Shanghai (B,L,D)
Depart for Shanghai. The largest commercial center of China. We will visit the Yuyuan Garden, a finely designed maze of elegant pavilions and ponds in the old part of this city. You can also walk along the famous commercial street, the Nanjing Road.

13. Shanghai – USA (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your return flight home.
