Chinese Tourists To USA


In summer of 2004, an official US tourism office was established in China. During its opening news conference attended by the US Embassy's visa consuls and the US government officials, a clear welcome message was sent to the ordinary Chinese citizens who intend to visit the USA as a tourist. On December 6th, 2004, a Sino-US Tourism Memo was signed in order to promote tourism into both countries. As of January 15th, 2005, Chinese citizens for the first time started to obtain multiple entry visas into the USA. Today, Chinese tourists are considered VIPs in western countries, and ordinary Chinese citizens vacationing in the USA is no longer a dream.

2. Beijing(D)
Arrive in Beijing in late afternoon and warmly welcomed by your English-speaking local guide. Transfer to the hotel.


3. Beijing (B,L,D)

Beijing is the Capital of China, once served as the Capital City for 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years. We start today’s tour from the Tiananmen Square – the largest square in the world. The present Tiananmen Square has an area of 440,000 square meters and has become a relaxing place for the common people to fly kites and walk. Behind the Tiananmen Gate Tower is the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. The City was built between 1406 and 1420 and served as the Imperial Palace for 24 Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This complex, being the world largest Imperial Palace, features more than 800 buildings with resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon we will tour the Temple of Heaven where the Ming and Qing Emperors worshipped the God of Heaven and preyed for a good harvest. You can visit the most brilliant buildings there, the Circular Mound Altar (Yuanqiutan), Imperial Vault of Heaven (Huangqiongyu) and Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest (Qiniandian) from south to north. What’s more, you can have a chance to experience the magnificent atmosphere of the Echo Wall around the Imperial Vault of Heaven.

4. Beijing (B,L,D)
After breakfast in the hotel, we will take our coach to the Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Wall is about six thousand kilometers in length from east to west across the country, and the only manmade structure visible from the Moon.
In the afternoon we will marvel at the incredible Ming Tombs, where 13 of the 16 Emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried. What’s more, a stroll along the Sacred Road with its stone statues is especially interesting.
We will enjoy the famous Beijing Duck banquet for dinner, with Chinese traditional folk dancing entertainment.

5. Beijing - Xian (B,L,D)
We will visit the Summer Palace, which was built in 1750 as a royal recreational resort. About 75% of the Garden was covered with water---the Kunming Lake. Among its famous features are the 700-meter-long corridors with its wonderful Painted Gallery, the Marble Barge, and several magnificently painted pavilions and pagodas. It is said that the huge amount of money used for building the Summer Palace was supposed to build a Chinese Navy, however, the huge Marble Barge by the vast Lake was the only thing relating to the Navy. We will take an afternoon flight to Xian.

6 Xian (B,L,D)
Xian is the Capital city of Shaanxi Province, which has a history of nearly 6000 years. Xian is the starting point of the famous ancient Silk Road, eleven ancient dynasties in the Chinese history once claimed Xian as their Capital. Today, our tour begins with a visit to the astonishing underground ruins, the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses. Concealed under earth, those thousands of life-sized clay warriors, horses and chariots, as part of the Tomb of Emperor Qinshihuang, were discovered accidentally by a farmer while digging out a well near his home. We will go to the excavation site to see those lifelike warriors and horses and then visit the Huaqing Hot Spring, where the Queen of Tang Dynasty used to take her bath.

7 Xian - Guiyang (B,L,D)
Walk along the Old City Wall, which has witnessed history of many thousand years. Then visit the famous Wild Goose Pagoda of the ancient Tang Dynasty. After lunch take the flight to Guiyang. Transfer to the Hotel and have a good rest.

8 Guiyang – Kaili(B,L,D)
After breakfast we will leave for Kaili, where many minority nationalities live. Visiting Southeast Guizhou Minority Museum, a place to see the customs, silver ornaments, construction of Miao and Dong nationalities. We will also visit the Miao Tang Ge Village, which is famous for the colorful dress of the women there. You can also have a chance to see how women make the beautiful batik cloth.

9 Kaili – Rongjiang (B,L,D)
Take the morning coach to Rongjiang. There we will have a wonderful tour to the Shang Lang De Miao Minority Village, enjoy the famous Lan Lu Wine, as well as the amazing singing and dancing performances of the Miao people. Venture the Lei Gong Mountain, which is the national stage nature reserve center.

10 Rongjiang – Congjiang - Zhaoxing (B,L,D )
After breakfast we will hit on our road again and drive for Congjiang, where we will visit San Bao Dong Minority Village of Chengjiang, the ancient Rong tree forest and the ancient Miao Minority Village. Then continue our tour to Zhaoxing, where you can see many Tower Building Villages. Enjoying the fantastic performances of the Dong Minority people. In the evening we will rest in the traditional Zhao Xing Wooden House.

11 Zhaoxing – Sanjiang – Guilin (B,L,D)
Today you can have a chance to look upon the Diping Roofed Bridge, which is the biggest roofed bridge in China. Visit the Long Sheng Terrace. Arrive in our destination, Guilin, then transfer to hotel and have a good rest.

12 Guilin – Li River Cruise – Yang Shuo – Guilin (B,L,D)
Buffet breakfast at hotel, you will enjoy a cruise down the Li River to the famous small town – Yang Shuo with the beautiful landscapes on both banks. Late afternoon drive back to Guilin.

13 Guilin - Shanghai (B,L,D)
This morning you will tour Guilin’s famous Reed Flute Cave, the largest underground attractions with fascinating stalactite and stalagmite cluster and the Elephant Trunk Hill. Then you will be transfer to the airport late in the afternoon and take the flight to Shanghai, the largest commercial and financial center of China. Transfer to the hotel after a short city tour around the famous Bund and the Nanjing Road.

14. Shanghai - Suzhou (B,L,D)
Take the morning coach to Suzhou, which is also known as “Venice of the East” by its beauty. Visit the Tiger Hill and the famous Lingering Gardens. Afterwards visit the Han Shan Temple.

15. Suzhou - Shanghai - USA (B,L)
Tour around the city and then drive back to Shanghai. After lunch, transfer to the airport and take the flight back to USA.
