Chinese Tourists To USA


In summer of 2004, an official US tourism office was established in China. During its opening news conference attended by the US Embassy's visa consuls and the US government officials, a clear welcome message was sent to the ordinary Chinese citizens who intend to visit the USA as a tourist. On December 6th, 2004, a Sino-US Tourism Memo was signed in order to promote tourism into both countries. As of January 15th, 2005, Chinese citizens for the first time started to obtain multiple entry visas into the USA. Today, Chinese tourists are considered VIPs in western countries, and ordinary Chinese citizens vacationing in the USA is nolonger a dream.

2. Beijing(D)
Arrive in Beijing in late afternoon and warmly welcomed by your English-speaking local guide. Transfer to the hotel.

3. Beijing (B,L,D)
Beijing is the Capital of China, once served as the Capital City for 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years. We start our adventure from the Tiananmen Square---the largest square in the world. Behind the Tiananmen Gate Tower is the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. This complex, being the world largest Imperial Palace, features more than 800 buildings with resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. There are over 9000 rooms in the Forbidden City, therefore if you choose to spend one day in each of the rooms, it will take you 27 years !In the afternoon we will tour the Great Wall, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Wall is about six thousand kilometers in length from east to west across the country, and the only manmade structure visible from the Moon.

4. Beijing (B,L,D)
Today, our visit is full of famous Buddhist temples, includes the Tan Zhe Temple, Jie Tai Temple and the Temple of Recumbent Buddha. We are not going to miss out the Lama Temple, which is the most famous Buddhist Temple and it was once a living Palace for the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. We will enjoy the famous Beijing Duck banquet for dinner, with Chinese traditional folk dancing entertainment.

5.Beijing - Xian (B,L,D)
Take the morning flight to Xian, the Capital of Shaanxi Province. Xian has a history of nearly 6000 years and was the starting point of the famous ancient Silk Road. We will have a walk along the City Wall, which was built in the 13th century, and then go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda of the Tang Dynasty, a sacred palace for the monks. The most famous monk in Chinese history, Monk San Zang, had once taught Hinayana there after his long and difficult journey to Indian. He was also the main character in one of the four greatest traditional Chinese novels, Journey To The West. An tour to the Medicine Market is particularly interesting. Moreover, a visit to the Great Mosque will let you experience different culture of another religion, the Islam.

6. Xian (B,L,D)
Today, our tour begins with a visit to the astonishing underground ruins, Museum of Qin Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses. Concealed under earth, those thousands of life-sized clay warriors, horses and chariots, as part of the Tomb of Emperor Qinshihuang, were discovered accidentally by a farmer while digging out a well near his home. We will go to the excavation site to see those lifelike warriors and horses and then visit the Huaqing Hot Spring, where the Queen of Tang Dynasty used to take her bath. We will also visit the Shannxi Provincial History Museum.

7. Xian–Chengdu–Leshan–Mt. E-mei (B,L,D)
In the morning we leave for Chengdu. We will visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, which was built in memory of the greatest ideologist and strategist in Chinese history, Zhu Ge Liang. Then we go to Leshan and visit the famous Leshan Giant Buddha there. It is the largest stone-carved Buddha in the whole world. We will arrive in Mt. Emei in the evening.

8. Mt. E-mei - Chengdu (B,L,D)
Golden Summit is an absolutely necessary spot to visit on your Mt. Emei tour. It is about 3000 meters above sea level. We will try to find an advantage point to appreciate the sunrise, and to view the sea of clouds, and the Buddhist lamps. We will take the evening coach back to Chengdu.

9. Chengdu (B,L,D)
We will spend the whole day exploring Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. Its rich natural resources and colorful culture earned Sichuan the nickname of “The Heavenly Warehouse”. We will visit the Baoguang Temple, the Wenshu Monastery, Qingyang Palace, and the Wangjiang Tower Park here.

10. Chengdu - Shanghai (B,L,D)
After breakfast we will fly to Shanghai. Shanghai, nestled in the fertile Yangtze River Valley, is the largest commercial and financial center of China, also the largest city in Asia. We will visit Yuyuan Garden, a finely designed maze of elegant pavilions and ponds in the old part of the city. We will also see the famous Bund by the Huangpu River, and the unique hustle and bustle downtown street – Nanjing Road.

11. Shanghai - Zhouzhuang - Suzhou (B,L,D)
We will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, which is famous for its two huge Jade Buddhas, each of them was carved out of a single piece of Jade.We will take the coach to Suzhou. On the road, visit the Zhouzhuang, the famous water village. Arrive in Suzhou in the evening.

12. Suzhou (B,L,D)
Resting in the arms of the ancient Grand Canal, Suzhou is well known for its old delicate gardens. We will visit many famous ancient temples here, such as the Zhuo Zheng Gardens and the Tiger Hill.
We will also see the Han Shan Temple, which was built by a monk named Han Shan.

13. Suzhou – Shanghai – USA (B)
After some sightseeing in the morning, we will drive to the Shanghai Pudong Airport for our international flight back home.
